Error When Starting Soy

Description
When I try to start up pysoy, it crashes with the following error message. It happens when attempting to create a screen object.
I've installed the beta2 module
"Xlib: extension "XFree86-VidModeExtension?" missing on display ":1.0"."
I'm running Ubuntu 7.10 ATI card w/ latest fglrx driver from the repositories Also using Compiz/Fusion
