This is probably due to not being able to find GLEW, ODE, and several other dependencies in the apt/ubuntu universe/sources.

Ubuntu has tons of stuff, but I don't seem to have the right components at all. Is there a list of home pages for these source requirements?

I don't mind wget-ing the entire set but I need to know what/where. ODE is too common a term to google, millions of false hits. A shopping list would be great.

Ubuntu is very standardized. I'd be willing to try and build a .deb for it if I can get all the ingredients. TY.
