Monastic Friends

As a monk, I've been building a small studio to produce social games which teach non-violent strategies. This is not to preach or proselytize doctrine or "moral values", but teach through an open gaming environment where players can experiment with different scenarios which unfold depending on which approach they use to solve problems.

This can be put in contrast with a vast majority of games, both proprietary and free, where violence is either the winning strategy for every situation or violent situations are not included in the game at all.

The goal is for players to become catalysts for non-violence in their everyday life.

 Copyleft Games Group

I'm the founder of the Copyleft Games Group, a non-profit organization which serves as an umbrella for projects such as PySoy and games based on it. We're somewhere between the  Software Freedom Conservancy and a small business incubator for copyleft game projects to effectively market and distribute their work through commercial channels.

 Python Software Foundation

I've served as a PSF mentor for Google's Summer of Code since 2006 and have served as the org admin 2009, 2010, and 2011.

 XMPP Software Foundation

I'm a member of the XSF and help work on XEPs in relation to my work with PySoy and the  Concordance XMPP Service Framework.
